Mark Cardwell is recognized as an AI advocate with expertise in integrating artificial intelligence into small business and nonprofit workflows, a skill self-taught through extensive research and practice.
Mark is the Founder and Principal Consultant at Cardwell Communications LLC and is currently the Interim Executive Director for the Ohio Association of Nonprofit Organizations (OANO).
Mark leverages comprehensive marketing consultancy with a focus on strategic plan development. Mark's expertise extends to coaching, consulting, and serving as an interim or fractional marketing director, alongside developing and leading workshops, and courses both in-person and online, across various regions.
With a distinguished career that spans leadership roles in non-profit arts, for-profit sales, and marketing management, Mark is driven by a passion for coaching, training, and mentoring. His consultancy primarily aids non-profit agencies, foundations, and individual entrepreneurs in harnessing the power of marketing and AI to achieve their goals.
An esteemed member of the non-profit community, Mark had served on a number of boards and councils. He is a former member of the Ohio Association of Nonprofit Organizations (OANO) board and is a council consultant. He is also an esteemed faculty member of Americans for the Arts' ARTS U, participates in the AFTA’s panel of experts, and was most recently a member of the AEP 6 Equity Task Force.
With over 30 years of experience in arts marketing, executive management, media sales, and communications, Mark is celebrated for his contributions to the community, earning both local and national accolades. As an entrepreneur and an artist with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Columbus College of Art and Design, he uniquely blends creativity with strategic insight to foster innovative marketing solutions and leadership development.
